Special Transport

Special transport – heavy-duty machine transport semi-trailers (models: NN, JU, M)

This category includes a wide range of specialized semi-trailers available in one-, two-, three-, four-, and five-axle configurations. Their construction is precisely tailored to specific transport requirements. All machine transport semi-trailers are designed for operation in the most demanding environments and for intensive, heavy-duty use.

These vehicles are typically custom-engineered to meet the individual requirements of the client, taking into account the nature of the transported equipment and the specific road conditions at the operating location.

Due to their unique structural characteristics and intended use, machine transport trailers often exceed the scope of standard type-approval regulations, and as such, are registered as special-purpose vehicles.

They are primarily used for hauling large construction machinery such as excavators, backhoe loaders, rock crushers, and similar equipment. The trailer deck is usually constructed of either hardwood or steel plate.

The maximum permissible gross vehicle weight (GVWR) for five-axle versions can reach up to 100 tonnes. These trailers are designed to be coupled with three-, four-, or five-axle tractor units, which often require technical adaptation to handle vertical coupling loads of up to 40 tonnes.

Standard equipment includes:

  • 2″ or 3.5″ kingpin (optionally with hydraulic sliding system for precise adjustment to different tractor units and for optimal load distribution between tractor and trailer axles).
  • Pneumatic or hydraulic suspension (mechanical suspension also available in some variants).
  • SAF, BPW, or Gigant axles
  • Twin wheels (most common) in various sizes (19.5” / 17.5”) with steel or aluminum rims.
  • Hydraulic loading ramps at the rear, enabling machine access to the deck.
  • Hydraulic widening system, increasing deck width up to 3 meters.
  • Mechanical or hydraulic deck extension system to increase loading length and optimize axle load distribution.
  • Multiple cargo securing points and anchor systems integrated into the trailer frame and deck.
  • Mounts for ISO container transport.
  • Aluminum sideboards.

Popular optional equipment:

  • Additional axle steering systems to improve maneuverability, particularly important for operations in areas with narrow roads and tight corners, enabling the trailer to perform under extreme conditions
